It’s really great to think that we’ll be able to work less hard at keeping free space available on my desktop system without me going in and performing that cleanup myself. I expect to take great advantage of the new auto-cleanup of disc space.

Siri on the Mac is welcome, of course, as is the new picture-in-picture mode for video playback. The most interesting component is that many of the macOS updates were largely related to tying macOS more closely to iOS, with auto-unlock, continuity, and ApplePay taking the lead. Sierra, the new version of macOS (with a new name, goodbye OS X!) has a handful of quality-of-life improvements that should make things really nice for those of us who spend the bulk of our lives in front of the keyboard. The new remote for iOS, dark mode, and updates to the available SDKs are cool, but the importance of single sign-in cannot be overstated. Having a good system for freeform text input, along with the additional new ways of putting content onto the screen via SpriteKit, video content, and so on, push watchOS into a new space. I’ve personally been waiting on a killer app for the watch, and I think that we can really see this come through now, given better overall performance. This, along with the new dock and control center, may make the watch responsive enough for 3rd party apps to make them a viable and vital target. It may require a small amount of development work to get this to take place within an individual app, but that’s still very impressive. The most important thing for watchOS is that they’ve improved launch times on all watchOS apps. There wasn’t a bad seat in the house I had a seat towards the back on the main floor, and I was able to see everything perfectly.Īfter a brief and cool Apple animation, it was time to dig into the first set of news for the day: watchOS

Tetris and Ted Lasso were the only two Apple TV+ shows on the top 10 list. Taking the top three this time around were The Night Agent on Netflix, John Wick on Peacock, and Yellowjackets on Showtime. However, another Apple TV+ original jumped onto the chart this week just above Lasso. Now Reelgood’s data from the week of March 30 shows Lasso was able to hold onto its spot in the top 10, but it has dropped to 8th place. Right after Ted Lasso season three became available, only three shows/movies across all platforms were streamed more according to data from Reelgood.
